Alice in Wonderland is an opera directed by Pierangelo Valtinoni, and performed by Yip’s Children Choir.
Bored by the colorless world around her, Alice dreams of an more interesting existence. Suddenly, a white rabbit appears, and Alice follows it down a rabbit hole to discover an unrecognizable land of wonder! Stuck and frustrated at the chain of events that led her to her current situation, Alice begins to cry. Confused and curious, Alice follows a Fish-Footman and Frog-Footman who are carrying a croquet invitation to the Queen of Hearts, to The Duchess’ House. On her way through Wonderland to find her way home, Alice also meets and engages with other strange characters like The Cheshire Cat, The Mad Hatter,The March Hare, The Dormouse and Absolem before her final confrontation with the Queen of Hearts! In her adventure through Wonderland, it is only when Alice realizes that the Queen’s royal household is “nothing but a pack of cards!” that she ultimately finds her way home.
