Introduced in Chapter 4, Bill is perceived by [[Alice]] to be someone who does all of the hard work for [[the White Rabbit]] and the other denizens of Wonderland. When Alice becomes stuck in the Rabbit's house after eating a cookie that makes her grow uncontrollably, the Rabbit attempts to get in through the door and window, but fails. Bill is sent to go up through the chimney to investigate, since he and another creature are the only ones who have a ladder. Unwilling to let Bill get in, Alice uses her now huge foot, which is stuck in the chimney, to kick Bill straight into the air. He manages to survive the fall thanks to the fellow creatures and he later reappears in the final chapters as a juror at the [[The Knave of Hearts]]' trial. When his pencil squeaks too much upon his slate, an annoyed Alice takes it from him. Not knowing where it went, the Lizard starts using his finger to write, even though it leaves no mark at all.

Bill the Lizard is a fictional character from the novel, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll.

Description
