Lindsay Duncan (born 7 November 1950) is an actress who played Helen Kingsleigh in the 2010 adaption of Alice in Wonderland. She is also known for voicing TC-14 in Star Wars, and Queen Annis in Merlin.
Early life[]
Duncan was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. Her father served in the army for 21 years and later become a civil servant. She attended King Edwards VI High School for Girls in Birmingham through a scholarship. She later worked in the Royal Shakespeare Company where she also met her husband, Hilton McRae.
Career[]
At the age of 21, Duncan joined London's Central School of Speech and Drama. After her training she started out in summer weekly rep in Southwold. Throughout her career, she has had many roles in theatre, television and films. She has appeared in theatre productions like Twelfth Night, Julius Caesar, Les Liasons and A Midsummer Night's Dream. She has also had roles in TV shows like Doctor Who, Rome, Merlin and films like Mansfield Park and AfterLife.
